Cliff Smoot: Performance Cycling Coach
Cliff Smoot is a Category 3 road racer who recently moved from Philadelphia in order to train year-round on the beautiful roads and trails of the Bay Area. He now also trains at one the country’s most sophisticated indoor facilities, BreakAway Performance Training Center.
Cliff began his career in competitive cycling while earning his BA at Johns Hopkins University, and led his team to multiple conference championship titles as well as to Collegiate Road Nationals. Cliff is entering his seventh season as a roadie and has experience in countless races on the East Coast as well as many in Argentina, and has raced for Kelly/Lateral Stress Velo, Guy’s Racing, Quaker City Wheelmen, and Berkeley Bicycle Club.
With extensive professional experience working in the cycling industry, Cliff is an experienced bike fitter and has also taught Spinning for five years at health clubs around the US. He brings a wealth of teaching skills and cycling wisdom to his Performance Cycling Classes and is very excited to help others ride stronger and smarter.
