June 25 - Dear Friends and Fellow Athletes,
We kicked off our next round of multisport training this morning with an open water sunrise swim in Aquatic Park. I have to admit, stripping down in the morning dew was a bit chilly at first. But, once we hit the water, as the sun was coming over the Berkeley Hills, we warmed and our spirits soared.
The great thing about a dawn patrol is that it gives you an immense sense of accomplishment. It makes you want to shout, “I watched the sun rise over the water while you were still asleep!”
Thursday night we will launch our sunset track workouts at the Marina Green. Here we will work on running speed with 100,200, 400 & 800 meter intervals while the sun sets in the west. I am sure, spirits like heart rates will soar again.
